What are some moderate presidents or a website that will show presidential ideology?
I have looked all over the internet trying to find a list of presidents that are moderate. I even looked for a list of presidents that are liberal or conservative and i could not find anything. If there is a website out there that has a list of all of the presidents and it shows what their political ideology is that would be great.

- Most presidents are moderates the general population hates extremists on either side. Some very moderate presidents include; - George H.W. Bush - Jimmy Carter - George Washington (the only non-partisan president) some would even say Bill Clinton, or even Nixon on a lot of issues like Civil Rights in context to that era. But like I said, most presidents are not at the extremes of whetever ideology they come from.
- Defining a moderate is largely in the eye of the beholder. I suppose Eisenhower is considered to have been a centrist by nearly everyone, as far as I know. Other possible examples include Clinton, Bush I, Carter, Ford, Nixon, and Truman, but you'll find many people who will vehemently object to the characterization of one or more of those presidents as moderate. As for a website, Wikipedia might be one place to start. They usually describe each president thoroughly, and for many politicians there is a separate page devoted to listing his or her political positions. Keep in mind that a president's "ideology" may differ from how that president actually governs while in office. Jefferson, for example, is famous for the line "That government is best which governs least," but as a president, he didn't exactly follow that philosophy.
